Project Description

This recreation site is located at Lower Green River Lake at the base of the Wind River Range in western Wyoming, adjacent to the Bridger Wilderness and Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDT). This site contains a campground, trailhead, boat site, and rental cabin. This project replaces deteriorated picnic tables, fire rings, parking barriers, fences, and educational signs and kiosks in order to improve visitor health & safety, visitor services and satisfaction, and resource protection.

Why It Matters

Facilities at this site have long surpassed their life span and are badly in need of replacement to better serve the recreating public and protect the natural resource and wildlife in this area. Health and safety, visitor services and satisfaction, and resource protection will be improved by replacing dilapidated log tables and fire rings with new tables & fire rings. Designated parking areas will be re-established by replacing barriers and signs.
Educational signs and kiosks will help improve visitor understanding about how to minimize their impacts, including proper food storage in grizzly bear country.
