Project Description

Poudre Ponds is located in north-central Greeley on the south bank of the Cache la Poudre River. It is a 63-acre municipal water storage reservoir created to release water back into the Poudre River. The City of Greeley’ wants to encourage current and future anglers to use the site by making enhancements at the site to support the public’s comfort, convenience and safety. Improvements would include building a concrete boat ramp, installing more shade structures and information kiosks, adding picnic tables, grills, benches and trash cans.

Why it Matters

Poudre Ponds is heavily-used by an estimated 30,000 anglers launching 2,000 watercraft, annually, and also by many others who want to enjoy nature. The existing amenities are simply inadequate. The City of Greeley wants to support the visitors by providing them with better access and amenities.
