The Great Outdoors Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving recreation infrastructure and access to the great outdoors for the benefit and enjoyment of people of all ages, abilities and socio-economic backgrounds. From city parks and lakes to national forests and parks, The Great Outdoors Fund and its partners strive to make a difference and help keep the great outdoors great. But we can’t do it alone. The Great Outdoors Fund needs voluntary funding (that’s you!) to assist our public agencies and their nonprofits partners so they can deliver high-quality, year-round recreation opportunities through public-private partnerships. Not only is outdoor recreation proven to positively impact our physical and mental well-being, but it also instills an inherent love and appreciation of nature in those connected to it. Unfortunately, opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors are diminishing. With more than $100 billion in backlog maintenance, our country’s public agencies can no loner support the growing gap between needs and resources and every year our access to public lands and waters is dwindling. We all have a responsibility to give back so that others can find joy and inspiration in wild places. The great outdoors has always provided us with a route to take—today you can choose yours.
