Across America, outdoor courts, especially in urban parks, are under tremendous pressure from the fast-paced growth of Futsal. This project responds to the growing demand for futsal courts, a sport rapidly gaining popularity in the United States, and acts on recommendations from Fairfax County Park Authority’s analysis of areas in Fairfax County that would benefit from a greater diversity of sport court typologies. Stratton Woods Park was considered a top-ranking option for the inclusion of a futsal court, both environmentally and economically.
