Project Description

The Oakey Mountain OHV Area Enhancement Project will begin with the repurposing of a decommissioned campground near the North trailhead into a 6-site day use area complete with new grills and picnic tables. The project will also cover improvements to the parking lot, including building an ADA-compliant loading/unloading ramp and installing new educational kiosks throughout the area. Trail maintenance will also be conducted during the project to address signage confusion as well as routine and backlog maintenance.

Why it Matters

New and long-time users of the Oakey Mountain OHV Area will benefit from the improvement of the day use area, parking lot, and trail. This project will make a difference in a multitude of areas.
