June 1, 2025 – It’s hard to believe we’re nearly halfway through 2025. We are excited to start wrapping up six major recreation projects across the west, all designed to expand access to the outdoors and improve the experience for everyone.
HERE’S A QUICK LOOK AT THE NEXT FEW MONTHS:
Starting up north, our project at Ayres Natural Bridge Park in Converse County, Wyoming, is already well underway. This historic site is being upgraded with new playground equipment, an ADA-compliant walking path, and improved campground features.
We are hosting two workdays, June 4 and June 25, join us if you can!
Heading south from there to Greeley, Colorado, we are making improvements at Poudre Ponds with a new boat ramp, shade shelters, restrooms and other amenities. This area is heavily-used recreationally by anglers and paddle boarders alike.
Continuing south to Colorado’s San Luis Valley, the Lobatos Bridge Outdoor Classroom and Recreation Enhancement Project is in the midst of construction. We are also busy planning a community celebration for Friday, September 26th, the day before National Public Lands Day 2025.
Down in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Brantley Lake State Park is seeing continued improvements following the installation of the new fishing pier last year. This year, we’re adding an ADA-compliant pathway and parking, and a new shaded picnic area.
Go east to West Texas, we’ve got a project on one of the few pubic lands in Texas, which will be completed by mid-October. More updates coming soon!
Then on to the Oregon coast, we’re working to wrap up improvements at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. New signage, upgraded kiosks, and easier fee collection will help support responsible recreation and improve access for the diverse community of OHV users who visit this one-of-a-kind site.
We can’t wait to celebrate the completion of each project with you in the months ahead!
